Ever After

Dear Jane,

This afternoon I finished A1!

A1

I’m really liking the look of shirtings on the background. While I was sewing the final seams, Mom called and said that Heidi was being an over-achiever again and had finished more blocks than we had! I promptly asked if Heidi’s points were perfect, and my mom confirmed that they were. Of course.

This morning, I worked a little bit on the block, but then I was afraid that if I didn’t establish a habit of cleaning/exercising first and quilting later, I would stay in my pj’s all day long and my family would have to live in a pig sty. So, one thing led to another, and by the time I was done, I had accomplished LOTS of things. It’s amazing what I can do when I know that I’ve got a wonderful reward–my Baby Jane–waiting for me.

It’s really cold and rainy today–the PERFECT kind of day to listen to old Doris Day music and quilt. Dinner is ready to stick in the oven, too. So, after I go rescue Vivi from her bed and feed her lunch, I can go start another block.

Oh, today’s my dad’s birthday! I wish that I were there to help him celebrate. He’s one of my favorite people in the whole world. I especially love how he treats my mom and supports her in everything that is important to her, like quilting. I’m grateful that I married someone like my dad. Was your husband supportive of your quilting?

Love,

Lori
