Ever After

Dear Jane,

B5 had the potential of being a nightmare because of the tiny little diamond shapes that needed to be appliquéd on.  Thankfully, my trusty freezer paper appliqué method (and my fledgling appliqué skills) worked well enough to produce a decent looking block.

Technique:

1.  Paper pieced everything except the little diamonds.

2.  Created 4 freezer paper template of the diamond shapes.

3.  Basted the blue/cream fabric to the diamond shapes.

4.  Positioned each diamond shape to the brown background square and appliquéd down, leaving a little opening on each to extract the freezer paper before finishing the stitching.
