Ever After

More than ten years ago, I purchased a serger, but I never used it … not one single time … because I was afraid of it. ย So, shortly before my year trade-in period expired, I exchanged it for a less intimidating embroidery machine.

But as the years have gone by, I’ve always wanted to learn to use a serger … to tackle my fears of the needles and blades and countless knobs and inexplicable adjustments. ย And so having just finished this outfit for Vivi, using my new serger several times during the project, I am quite proud of myself. I still have all my fingers, and I didn’t accidentally slice a hole in the dress.

And best of all is that Vivi loves the funky little ensemble. ๐Ÿ™‚

That is so cute! Last time I used a serger I was finishing my seams. . .final step to finishing up a dress. I did slice through it. I can’t think of a time I’ve ever been so MAD. Thankfully, I have an AMAZING mother who can fix anything!!!!! She unpicked the serger stitching and sewed the dress back together. Perhaps, that is why I went in to Elementary Education rather than home ec like my mom, Karen, and Liz. ๐Ÿ™‚

That’s my sister! It turned out so cute Lori. I am so proud of you for finishing it and still loving it. I can’t wait to see it in person.

The outfit is definitely cute, but Vivi’s face is adorable! What a poser.
