Triumphant

More than ten years ago, I purchased a serger, but I never used it … not one single time … because I was afraid of it. So, shortly before my year trade-in period expired, I exchanged it for a less intimidating embroidery machine.
But as the years have gone by, I’ve always wanted to learn to use a serger … to tackle my fears of the needles and blades and countless knobs and inexplicable adjustments. And so having just finished this outfit for Vivi, using my new serger several times during the project, I am quite proud of myself. I still have all my fingers, and I didn’t accidentally slice a hole in the dress.
And best of all is that Vivi loves the funky little ensemble.

That is so cute! Last time I used a serger I was finishing my seams. . .final step to finishing up a dress. I did slice through it. I can’t think of a time I’ve ever been so MAD. Thankfully, I have an AMAZING mother who can fix anything!!!!! She unpicked the serger stitching and sewed the dress back together. Perhaps, that is why I went in to Elementary Education rather than home ec like my mom, Karen, and Liz.
That’s my sister! It turned out so cute Lori. I am so proud of you for finishing it and still loving it. I can’t wait to see it in person.
Love,

Awww! I love it!! (although, I have no idea what a serger is… sounds scary)
Soooo cute!! I wish I could sew more than straight lines…. you’ll have to teach me
The outfit is definitely cute, but Vivi’s face is adorable! What a poser.
Adorable! Love that fabric!
